Academy Hall standing alone before Grose Hall was built, 1909.

The first floor of Academy Hall was built in 1892 with the remaining floors added the following year. Originally functioning as a men’s dormitory, it was converted to a women’s dorm in 1944 and named South Hall. Students continued to reside there until 1962 whereupon it was renamed Academy Hall and began to house academic departments and auxiliary offices.
