Also called the “Pest House,” the hospital was built in 1910 at the current site of the Mugaas Plant Operations Center. The hospital had a 12 bed capacity, which was filled beyond that even before construction was completed due to a scarlet fever outbreak. In 1947, the hospital was moved to a location south of Old Main. It remained there until 1962 when it was razed to make way for the construction of Lorentzsen Hall
