Three different homes have served as the President’s Residence since the founding of Concordia College. The first was President Bogstad’s residence, which became the Music Conservatory and has since been demolished. The second presidential home is the current Aasgaard House. Today, the President’s Residence is located on the corner of Eighth Street and Seventh Avenue. Purchased in 1945 from the Gosslee family, the college originally used the home as a women’s dormitory and the Home Management House. In 1951, President Knutson moved into the home with his family. The President’s Residence was originally built in 1910 and was added to the National Register of Historical Places in 1980.
