Hvidsten Hall of Music
The Hvidsten Hall of Music was built in 1963 and named after Alfred Hvidsten who donated $60,000 toward the building. The Kresge Foundation, after which the Kresge Lounge is dedicated, donated another $25,000 for construction. Hvidsten originally featured an open-air courtyard in the center of the building, which often hosted recitals. A 1999 building renovation added rehearsal rooms as well as filled in the courtyard to create more usable space.
