In 1975, the communication field was growing and students wanted to have more opportunities on campus. A campus radio club fought to get back a student run radio station, which they achieved in March of 1979. (13) The executive staff renamed KOBB to KORD to symbolize a new beginning for the Concordia radio station. The KORD team of 30 (including DJ and executive staff) received $8000 to get KORD back up and running. They broadcasted in the Fjelstad basement using a closed-circuit broadcasting system.
