The ghost of Hoyum Hall has no known name, though she has occasionally been referred to as 'Emily' by current students. Her legend is vague, with few concrete details. What details there are match almost perfectly with Dolly's story, with no other information to make her unique.

She was a female student who, stressed about finals, committed suicide in the girls bathroom on the fourth floor of Hoyum. In the following years, the fourth floor became a male floor, and in response she moved up to the fifth, a female floor. She is also credited with moving objects, opening doors, and calling names out in the hall. In addition, students report seeing her standing at the end of their beds, watching. As there has never been any harm done, many think she simply enjoys watching over current students, perhaps to protect them from ending their own lives as she did [1].

The fact that she is so like Dolly is strange, though stress before finals is a common story for student ghosts. It is not surprising that when the building was believed to be haunted, this was the reason why. What is telling is that she is in fact a she, when many of the events attributed to her have happened on both the fourth floor and the fifth, despite the story saying she has moved. While this is explained as her being confused or angry that there are boys on her floor, there is still an interesting gendered study as to why she is indeed a she, and why only the female ghosts are suicide stories. On the other hand, Al has had no story ever attached to him depicting how it is he died or even how he ended up there [2].
