Hello darling.
Well I got three letters to day [sic] and I’m sorry if I said anything in them (I mean my letter or letters to you) to hurt your feeling[s]. That would be the last thing I would ever want to do. I also got a letter from Barbara and she told me about a little girl I know who thinks that when we get married that if we ever have a boy instead
[Page 2]
of a girl that I won’t like it. You ought to know darling that I would like either a boy or girl. Gee I love you so much that anything you do or say is ok [sic] with me. I got a package from my mom to day [sic] so I won’t go around with that beard that I started to grow. I had some razor blades in it and a lot of candy an[d] cookies to[o]. It sure make[s] a guy feel good to get mail. I don’t
[Page 3]
know, it’s kind of a funny feeling when you go to mail call and you don’t get any. Well I had a hard day again to-day [sic]. I had to be one of the coaches on the firing line and the guys that was [sic] firing was [sic] the General’s staff. That means we had everyone from our division, general down to the clerk, in his offices. Well darling I [am] pretty tired to-night [sic].
[Page 4]
Here it is eleven o’clock and I got [up] at 4:45 this morning. I hope I don’t have to do it all week. I [am] still planning on getting a furlough even though he (the first Sgt.) [Sergeant] says I haven’t a chance. Well take care of your self [sic] and I love you more every day [sic] and don’t worry about a boy I love you.
Howard.
