8:00 P.M.
Dearest Yve,
I’m sorry if I didn’t write last night but we left for a week’s [sic] bivouac yesterday morning and before we got set up it started to rain and everything got wet. We had a very rugged day to day [sic] and to-morrow [sic] looks so it’ll be worse. Well anyway darling I got a letter from you to day [sic] and it makes me feel a lot better

to know that you still love me a little and that you didn’t love me just for my money because if you did you’d sure get a big disapointment. [sic] 9:00 P.M. Well darling the company just brought out twenty cases of beer and that means about 2 bottles a piece and I just took time out to have a bottle is it O.K. with you? Gee darling I miss you so darn much and I wish you were here but it wouldn’t do any good

for you to be down this week because I wouldn’t be able to see you not even one minute and I think that would make me go over the hill. Well I [sic] let you know how I make out to-morrow [sic] when I write. I want to see you so much and I love you so much but I’ll prove that part when I see you I love you darling and until to morrow [sic] think of me will you? As ever,
