Oct. 8, 1943
Hi Darling,
Cheer up darling [sic] the war’s going to be over soon then we’ll be to gether [sic] again and everybody will be happy. Well darling [sic] I got to get to sleep early to night [sic] because for the next three days I got to drive almost all the time Saturday Sunday and Monday. I got to drive a truck in a break in convoy you know where

a truck is new you have to go slow so many miles well that [sic] what I get to do over the week-end [sic] and you know how I like to drive slow. We we’re supposed to go out this morning but the Col. wished us to go on a road march of ten miles so we could disapoint [sic] him. Well darling nothing new seem to happen around here any more [sic]. The outside beer garden is closing to night [sic] and they are giving a but party I think I just put in an appearance

to say I went anyway. I forgot to mention that on the 15th of the month we’re going to have a Rodeo because most of the guys down here come fo [sic] the west and I guess its [sic] will be quite a show. I went Roller [sic] skating the other night and almost Killed my self [sic] and I guess that’s all the news from camp campbell [sic] to-day [sic]. Gee darling I miss you so much and I wish I could see you. I know its [sic] only been

or it hasn’t quite been two months since I started for home on my last furlough but this time it seems to drag. Well darling [sic] I [sic] going to close now and I’ll think of you all the time. I love you darling [sic]. As always
