Hello darling,
Well here I am in a tent writing you a letter by candle light and you picture is right here in front of me and darling if you only knew how much I miss you. I didn’t write yesterday because I didn’t have time and arling I’m cold tonight. I know if you were here I wouldn’t have to worry about being cold would I?

[Page 2]

Well darling I finally got a little letter from Betty and she told me about her new boyfriend but I don’t know. I think she [s] kind of crazy. Darling I’m pretty sure of having a furlough a week from Sunday that will be about the 28th of the month. It will only be about seven days but if thats all I can get I got to take it, so you can plan on me coming home some time after the 28th.

[Page 3]

Well I’m going to close now but I’m going to be glad to see you. I’m going to have a little time to write tomorrow so until then I love you very much and always will. I love you darling. As ever

Howard
