Well as you know by now I didn’t get my furlough today so I guess it will be next saturday [sic]. I’m telling you it was close though. The first Sgt. had the furloughs all made out and mine had fourteen days and then the maton officer said I couldn’t go on account of the clerk at the motor pool had to go on an emergency furlough and I have to get the record straighten [sic] out. It seems that every time theres [sic] a big inspection of records by 2nd

Army big shots the clerks get sick and go on furlough and because I used to do the job down there they call on me.Some of these days I’ll get a discharge and maybe the camp will fold up.. i keep getting a razzing about having a fourteen day furlough torned [sic] up in front of my face but it isn’t that that hurts so much, it [sic] the principle of it. Well darling I just got back from a U.S.O. show at member 2 theatre and it was good too. but gee darling I miss you so darn much. Its [sic] a good thing I only got to wait another week for my

furlough though. I think I’d go crazy if I was turned down again. Well darling I think I’ll go to bed now or after I take a shower. The bed seems so soft, I had a hard time to get to sleep. I don’t know what to do when I get home. Maybe I’ll get some rock [sic] and sticks to put in bed with us. Well anyway darling I love you and always will so goodnight for now darling. I love you. Your loving husband
