Dear Yve
How are you today? Gee I wish that the war was over so I could go home. Well I guess I might as well tell you that I got my teeth and that they don’t fit so I’m going to the dentist this next week and see them and tell them. What I think I’ve been too busy to go before this so I’m going to start gold-bricking [sic] again. I got a new company commander now and he don’t [sic] know me so I guess I [will] get away with it. Well [D]arling I got paid today and I [will] see what I can do this time. I got to pay income tax or rather file one anyway.
[Page 2]
Well [D]arling it looks as if I won’t get my next furlough until about the middle of [M]ay, so I hope the month [will] go fast. Oh I almost forgot that I got your box of candy and it was very good and it was all in big pieces. Well [D]arling I got [sic] to clean some guns to day [sic] and load some ammunitions in the belts so I have to hurry. Well [D]arling I got [sic] to go now. I [will] write when I can and I hope your sister don’t [sic] be get too lonesome while Norman [is] away. I love you and please in your letters tell me you love me just once in every letter anyway. I love you.
Howard
P.S. Tell your sister to tell N.M. to come south. The weather is fine.
