Darling Yve,
I have been so darn busy I haven’t been able to write. I been on the go all the time. I’m sorry if you think that I don’t want to write but some times [sic] it impossible. In your letter you think I can write every day but for the last few days I been on gard [sic] duty and they don’t give you much rest. Monday we had a black out [sic] and I was on gard [sic] then to. I’m sorry to hear you have a cold. I wish I was there so I could take it a way [sic] from you. Darling I love you and I wish I could see you but it will have to wait. Out on the drill field the fellows were passing out like fly [sic]. [I]t was really hot to-day [sic]. And Darling I will write every chance
[Page 2]
I get. You know I allways [sic] write to you just and if I haven’t got time to write any more I don’t write. My mother don’t get more than 3 or so letters a month because I haven’t the time to write. Darling I wish that we had got married a long time ago. Don’t believe what those girls tell you about me. [T]hat I wouldn’t love you. You said the told you some fellows forget there [sic] girlfriends to but that isn’t true if the fellow loves a girl [illegible deletion]. I love you he won’t forget here [sic] for a minute. Darling when are you going to send me some picture of your self [sic]. I hope I can get a leave in August. I’m trying to get one for the 9th so keep your fingers crossed and pray for me. I love you and I will never forget you or get tired of you as your letter says. Love
Howard
