Darling Yve,
I wish I were with you right now. You don’t know how much I miss you. I got the box of cookies you sent me to-day [sic] and they were really good. They came all in one piece too. You know I got Sat. afternoon off and I thought I would go into town and stay over night so I went down to the

bus station and tried to get a ride into Louisville. I waited for a us from 2 o’clock in the afternoon till 9 o’clock at night and I couldn’t get a ride so I came back here. It wouldn’t be so bad down here but last night I went to the show here on the post and I saw all boys in the show with their girl freinds [sic]. [O]ne was sitting in front of me and he had one arm around her [illegible deletion] and he was holding

her hand. Yes I love you darling and I wish I could see you. Will you marry me darling when I get home? I saw the big chief of the army General Marshal Wednesday he’s quite a boy. Well darling I got to close now. [B]e good and wait for me. [B]ut if want to Roland you can have him. [H]e’s not 10,000 to 1,000 miles hundred miles away from home. I love you with all my heart
