Hi darling,
Well I’m back in the barracks now and am more lonelier than ever. I had an awful sinking feeling as I watched the train pull out of Clarksville and I felt like taking the next one home or send you a telegram in Ohio and have you come back. Honest darling I [have] never felt like this before. Well darling I hope you make the trip ok and I wish I could of been there with you. Well Ray hasn’t got back to camp yet but I expect him any time now and darling that Peep driver [at] camp asked me if you
[Page 2]
liked the ride he gave you and I told him yes is it ok darling? Well there isn’t much to say to-night [sic] except I love you I love you I love you so very much and darling I miss you so much I just can’t wait for this war to end. Good night now darling and remember I love you. All my love,
Howard
