Hi darling:
Gee I wish I could of [sic] been at the recital. I bet it was good. In fact everything you do is good. Darling I hope you have a very good time on your vacation too because I know you’ve earned it. About the prom I got your letter in the afternoon mail and I was glad to hear from you because in the morning I got a letter from some body [sic] else and told me quite a story about that prom and of course I didn’t believe her when she told me you went with a marine. Darling I wouldn’t of minded if you didn’t go with him. I wish you would go out it will do you good but please don’t forget about me. You know I want you to have a good time so don’t mind what other people are saying or

writing to me because [illegible deletion] until you tell me you don’t love me any more I’ll believe you but until you tell me it’s all over I won’t say anything. I love you darling and can’t think straight to night [sic] so if I sound crazy it[‘s] just the army life that[‘s] making me like this.. I’m going to close now and write to morrow [sic]. I wish I had you in my arms right now and maybe I could find words to tell you how much I love you. As ever
Howard.
