How are you doing? I’m fine I just got back from two days in the field and had a nice cold shower. What more could a guy ask except the impossible like asking for someone like you to be here to meet him. Gee darling I love you. We’re getting the fourth of July off but in the morning of the fourth we got to [sic] be in a parade and in the afternoon we got to go to a ball game so that’s the way they give us a holiday. I went to a couple of good shows a few nights ago. One was, Stage Door Canteen [sic] and the other was Coney Island [sic]. I really enjoyed them both. The best one is, Stage Door Canteen [sic]. I’m also sorry that I couldn’t have seen it. By the way how is your Grandmother [sic] getting along? You haven’t said anything about her for a long time. Darling they are having a big stage show on at the field house [sic] tonight [sic] and besides I got to get up at four tomorrow. Well darling I wish I could go home to see you for awhile but I guess it[‘s] no soap. One of the boys in the company got a letter from his best friend back home and in it said (I still want you for a good friend but I just married your best girl.) Some nerve huh! Well good night darling. I’ll see you soon. I hope, but until then I love you darling.
Howard.
