Hello darling:
In answer to your letter Saturday in the P.S. the answer is (No) [sic] so don’t worry or if you don’t believe wait and find out. I’m glad you like your cedar chest because if you didn’t it surely wasn’t my fault because we went every place for it and I do mean every place. Darling I wish this darn war was over and I could go back home to stay. I’m getting so fed up with this that I’m going nuts. The only thing that keeps me going is knowing that you love me and are going to wait for me. Well darling I had a hard day to-day [sic] and now my buddy Ted is writing letters to [sic]. Infact [sic] he stold [sic] the

desk to night [sic] so I [illegible deletion] I have to stand up and write to you. Ted sure feels crazy to night [sic]. He keeps telling me jokes and he talk[s] like Joe Penner. He’s makeing [sic] me so I can’t write. Well darling I got to write a letter home to-night and I know you won’t mind if I cut this letter off short darling. I love you so very very much that just thinking of you make[s] me feel funny. I just looked at your picture again and I love you more all the time. Well darling I got to get up at three a.m. so I [am] going to quit for to-night [sic] and drop my mom a few lines. I love you and I always will will. Lot of love from the one who really loves you.
Howard.
