Hello darling:
Well here I m again and I changed my mind about not liking the army. Why I think it[‘]s swell don’t you? Don’t say yes or I’ll never believe you. Well I really don’t mind army life too much but I’m making the most of it. Who know maybe I’ll make another stripe or something. I got a letter from an old buddy of mine that was in Africa but is now in Sicily and he was on that landing party. He said that the whole company that he was in got there with out [sic] one hurt. He seems to
[Page 2]
be enjoying this war. He said that he’s seeing the country anyway. He [has] been all over the states, England, Ireland, Africa and now Sicily and he said he interested to go a see a little more. Nothing new to day [sic] down here except we got an other [sic] load of prisoners of war. Some Italian and some German for our own little prison camp. Well darling I wish I could tell you how much I love you but I can’t. I can’t find any words that could explain it so darling I got to [sic] go to bed now but don’t forget I’ll never love anybody but you and I mean it. I love you so much that I don’t know how to explain it. You loving husband to be
Howard. (I hope.)
