Dearest Yve.
I got a letter from you to-day [sic] and you just couldn’t know how much more I love you. It seem[s] like a year since I got a letter from you and here it’s only been five days since I left you in Worcester. You mentioned how you missed me, well darling I missed you because I didn’t have nobody in bed with me at all not even a sister at least I don’t think so
[Page 2]
anyway. Gee darling I sure would like to get up in the morning and see you again. It seem[s] so long but I guess its [sic] because I love you so much. All the offices asked about you and wanted to wish us all the luck. I felt like telling the C:O that a discharge would make me a friend of his for life but I didn’t. Well darling I got back from Mammoth Cave to-night [sic] and I had a pretty good time, of course I missed you and I really would like to have you see the cave with me some time. I didn’t see half of it but I spent five hours walking
[Page 3]
and looking and had lunch in the snowfall dining room and that over 260 feet below the surface of the ground. [W]ell anyway it [was] kind of cool down there and then I took a boat ride on [E]cho [R]iver and that 360 feet below the surface, thats [sic] kind of getting down in Hell huh, pardon the english. [N]o kidding darling its [sic] really beautiful in some parts of the cave and very interesting. I went swimming down in the green River and the water was warm but it looks dirty Oh well I guess that[‘s] about all I did but I missed you. I don’t
[Page 4]
know I just don’t enjoy things without you. Well my little wife I got to say good night for now but I[‘ll] write again to morrow [sic] and keep loving me will you? I love you very much. As Ever
