Dear Yvette,
You must of thought I got lost wounded or something because I didn’t write, but it wasn’t that bad. I guess you’d classify it as plain lazy-ness [sic]. Well here it is the thirteenth and you know what that means, boy I wish I was home but I guess we can’t have everything. Well hows [sic] everything going at home? I haven’t had a letter from anybody since the first of march but I guess I’ll get one pretty soon. The usual thing is happening around here so theres [sic] nothing new. Let me know if you get this card but by the time I get an answer from you I’ll have forgotten about it.

[Page 2]

The usual thing is going on down here to-night, a poker game and I’m not in it. I guess I’ve reform[ed]. You see the army has done things for me. Well darling I got a little cold to night [sic] so I guess I’ll turn in early, I got some A.P.CO. from the aid man (Lou) so I guess I’ll be o k by morning. I love you darling and keep writing even if I don’t get them regular [sic], they catch up in time. As Ever

Howard
