Yvette, darling:
Darling it was sweet of you to send me that picture of yourself. I sure miss you so much that now with three pictures of the most wonderful gal in the world [it] helps met overcome my lonely feeling. Darling I stole out to night [sic] and went to a show and it was good compared with other[s] I’ve seen down here in Kentucky. The name was, Hello Frisco Hello [sic]. Maybe you already saw it. I guess the furlough business will have to be put off for quite awhile. As far as me going home for Easter don’t plan on it. I just came from the captain[‘s] office and he said that he don’t
[Page 2]
think he could get it for me although I know he can if he tried. I got to go out on the rifle range to coach on the firing line, you know, to see that they hold the gun right and that’s a pain the neck. I can think of better things to do with my neck such as going home and have [sic] somebody ring it with nice, gentle hands in a very nice way. Darling don’t mind me to-night [sic] because I love you so much. I’m going slightly nuts. I guess I [am] go[ing] over the hill. Well darling I got to go to bed because I got to get up at five. I love you and I hope you’ll wait. Lots of Love
Howard.
