Hi Chum,
By the way where did you get the hi chum stuff? That reminds me of our officer we have. he [sic] comes from New York and he’s always calling everybody chum. My letters seem to be getting few and far between don’t you think. Since we’ve became a combat outfit the training is getting a little stiffer. Last Friday we went on a three day bivouac and to day bivouac we had to put on a demonstration for the officers of the division so I’ve been kept pretty busy. Darling about the question? I wish somebody would tell me because I don’t know.
[page 2]
You know that if I had any thing [sic] to say about it we would of been married quite a while ago but I hope I don’t have to wait much longer because if I do I’ll be an old man before I start living. Darling you can tell Lou that I’ll surly [sic] let her know in pleanty [sic] of time (I hope). Well darling do you still love me as much as ever? I know that I really love you even though you think I’m kind of slow at a lot of things such as getting married. Do you remember all those time that I asked you and you always said yes and then I’d say to-night [sic] then you said no
[page 3]
Well thats [sic] the way it goes. Well anyway darling some one of these fine days we’ll do something about it. To morrow [sic] we got another one of those foot races that they call road marches and it getting awful late and I got to get some sleep after all it [sic] almost two o’clock and I was up at five this morning. Darling I [sic] going to have more time to write to morrow [sic] so I promise to write. I love you and I got to say good night [sic] for now, I mean good morning so darling I have a nice dream about you and think of me always. Love
