Darling Yve,
I am having a swell time. I just got back from the hike that we started out on Monday morning. First off it was raining for two days and oh well I’ll start off with the beginning. We left camp monday morning at 7:30 and walked until about 2:30 that took us about 20 miles out in the woods when we got there we had to pitch our tents in the rain. Well after we

we had chow then the[y] took us for an other [sic] hike and we were shure [sic] wet and tired. Let me tell you one thing that sleeping on the ground ain’t as nice as it sounds not in the rain anyway well I went to sleep and caught a cold and went for an other [sic] hike along the Ohio river in the morning and it was still raining. [B]eleive it or not all I did for two days is walk in the rain then on the way back it got so hot tha[t] all our clothes were wet so I was in the wet wether [sic] it was raining or not. (woe is me). I have my troubles well that[‘s] enough about me now about you. How have you been i haven’t written for three days because I couldn’t but I thought
