Hello Darling,
Well here I am again. I’m sorry I couldn’t write yesterday as I promised but I had a good reason. You see Our dear General (Hanek) Henery is leaving us so they put on a big parade and the whole division was out to see him off and I guess every one of them was as glad as I was to see

him leave he (Genera Hank) I mean kept us out all morning giving us a speech about how he enjoyed being with us and in all his twenty six years of service he never commanded a better division. Boy he shure [sic] shot a lot of bull Well in the after noon [sic] we had a big Parade and then at night I had C. Q. [charge of quarters, guard front entrance]. Well to-day [sic] I got a notice for me to go out and learn something

about a machine gun and to think I was teaching all last winter oh well it didn’t hurt me any and I helped the sgt. that was teaching it to-day. Darling I miss you so darn much that it just aint [sic] right. I wish this war would hurry up and be over so we could be married or I think I’ll go nuts. Darling you still love poor little me huh? Well darling I got to go my buddy went to

do a little work and he got to use the desk. I [have] just about run out of word[s] except how much I love you and I can’t find word[s] to express it. I really love you darling [sic] and I want only you. As Ever
