Dear Mrs. Sarty,
Do you know that I love you darling? I really do and you can spend all the money you want as long as you got it to spend and as far as telling me about all the work I’ll have to do when I get home, I’ll gladly do all the work before I’d reenlist in the army. I had my excess clothes turned in to day [sic] so I can’t work no more because I have no more work clothes isn’t that good? But a guy just don’t know what to do with him self [sic] hanging around doing nothing. Gee it make me feel good knowing I’ll be home soon and I will be free again. Gee darling I love you so very much
[Page 2]
I think that’s why it seems so long because everyday away from you seems like years and when I’m with you they fly. I got two nice long letters from you to day [sic] and yes I got the box from you but everything was all broken up and everything. Gee darling I love you so much and I’ll be home before long and show you. I love you like everything. Your other half.
Howard
[The following was written as a postscript]
P.S. I love you and ? also, but you the most.
