Dearest Yve,
Well here I am again, I just got back from having a milk shake [sic] and boy was it good. I sure wish you could be here to help me enjoy it though. Well darling I didn’t so very much to day. [sic] It started out this morning by the company commands sending me to the dentist for a check which everything is ok so I don’t have to worry for another six month. [sic] Then I came back to the

company and cleaned my little machine gun but darling I think of you all the time even while I’m working. Then I took my ½ track and brought a bunch of guys out about 9 miles and gave them the pleasure of walking back to camp, you know one of these hike [sic] you hear so much about in the army. Then we came back to camp and had chow and we’re off for the rest of the day of course we have to shine our shoes and wash fatigue clothes and clean out lockers but outside of that we’re off. Well darling my buddy Ray who you know the

guy that had his picture taken with me that I sent you, well he just brought me in a pint of [illegible word] ice cream and it taste [sic] pretty good but darling its [sic] getting awful late and I got to go out early to morrow [sic] morning so I’ll say good night darling and I love you so much and I miss you so much and I would like to see you so much. I love you and I hope this war ends soon. Good night darling. As ever,
Howard
