Hi Yve:
Well I [am] alright so far as I know. I’m still five feet ten inches tall, got brown hair and eyes and weigh about 158 striped. I’m not exactly satisfied with the army and I think it’s mostly because they refused to give me a furlough when I wanted one most. The twentieth division opened the new field house up last night with a dance and floor who and we all had to go or get put on detail so I went. The floor show was good and I’m glad I went, so for the dancing part it was ok [sic]. I can say this much for the regement [sic] that they [illegible deletion] really went out of the wat to get us some dancing partners. They went to Dixon Town that about 60 miles away and then they went to Bowlings. That[‘s] a long way from camp to and

they really got some nice dances. I had a couple of dance and I had a good time as could be expected with out [sic] you. Well when I got back to go to bed I couldn’t sleep at all. Last night I kept thinking that you didn’t love me anymore and I knew differently. Darling you should of [sic] been here last night everything would of [sic] [been] perfect. Even the band was good. Well most of the guys that played in teh band came from Calif. [California] from some night club. Well darling don’t worry about me. I still [had] a good day and I still love you more than anything in the world and as for anybody else I wouldn’t go out with them. Darling. I love you. Lot of love

Howard.

P.S. Yve darling, I’m still a clerk in the office.
