There are lots of them who waited for the moment when they could pal around with the same old gang at Concordia once more. They thought of it in Italy and in the Philippines. They don’t wax enthusiastic about it, now that they are sunning themselves around Fjelstad’s walls during purple fall days; but they do admit, when pressed, that they are glad. Carrying books is better business than carrying ammunition cases. And the lunch hour at the cafeteria is better than a chow wagon. Maybe they are a little older – maybe a lot wiser – maybe they have seen the world, but they are back where they started, because they want to be. It’s the indefinable. But it’s there.
Cobbers have seen a lot during the just past years. And they have given it up to be at Concordia, with Christian ideals, Christian associations, Christian friends, and the atmosphere of Christian teaching and learning. Sometimes we think at Concordia that what we stand for attracts them from the ends of the earth.
