Camp Campbell, Ky. [Kentucky] Sept. 17, 1943 Hello darling Well hows [sic] every little thing today I’m feeling OK. [sic] and everything like that and I feel crazy to [sic]. I’m supposed to get a week-end [sic] off this week but I don’t know yet if I get my pass. My boss has gone to see about it now and if I get I think I’ll go swimming, by the way is it too cold [page 2] up there to go swimming yet? Well we’ve about finished our weeks [sic] work and I’m pretty tired so I think I’ll go to bed good night [sic] darling I love you so very much. Love Howard. [the following was included as a different letter on the same document] Sept. 18, 1943 Next morning Good morning darling [sic], Well this is a beautiful day to-day [sic] the sun is shining the birds are singing and everything. I’m still waiting for the pass and as yet. I think I’ll get it [page 3] Well I got a letter from my brother Phil and it [sic] first letter I’ve had from home since before my furlough. Well darling [sic] I guess I’m going swimming because they just brought me my pass so be good and remember I’ll always love you I’ll think of you all day I love you Howard [the following is included as a postscript] I love you and I told you I feel crazy.
