Dear Yvette
How are you making out these days getting kind of tough huh? The boys down here want to know what kind of a girl I got that will write me letters every day and send me candy every once in a while [sic]. So I tell them I have a very nice girl. I tell them that she is everything a man like me could want and I mean that to [sic]. Gee its [sic] going to be tough if I can’t get get [sic] home for [C]hristmas because I had a lot planned for that. I’ll be glad to get back home because I miss thoughs [sic] weekends that we used to spend to gether [sic]. The way you

write you might think I didn’t miss you at all. Them days we used to have dinner all alone with your sisters and [N]orman and do you remember these Christmas [E]ve’s that we used to go to your house while your mother and father were out. I have a feeling that I’ll spend [C]hristmas in Texas because I think that’s where I am going. Well that’s about all except that I got a letter from my mother and she said that brother Bill was still in Fort Devens and he was home last Sunday some people are lucky huh? When I was up to Devens I couldn’t I couldn’t come home for a Sunday could I? I wish that we had got married before I came into the army. Love,
Howard
