(Still on maneuvers)
Dearest darling wife,
Here I am lying down in my text writing because there isn’t enough room to sit up. Well darling we’ll be back in the barracks friday and and I’ll feel much better. I got a letter from you today and every time I hear from you I love you more. I’d love you if I didn’t get letters

[Page 2]

but every letter helps to build up my maral which is very low now. Darling, you know I want to come home but I’ve got to wait my turn and darling you don’t have to use shoe polish. I have to laugh every time I think of that shoe polish deal. Well darling nothing new ever happens to me down here so I can’t write anything except I love you. I love you. I love you, but you already know that but

[Page 3]

I like to keep reminding you that I love you anyway. Well darling I got to go now because the lights are limited around here and I’ll have to give somebody else a break. Well anyway darling I want you to know I love you and I need you. Love

Howard
