Dearest darling wife,
Well here I am back in camp Campbell and I just got the letter with the little clippings in it about is your wife over 15) [sic] and thats[sic] Kentucky all over. I’ve seen a lot of men down here with wives under 15 and I’m glad I got you. Well darling I drove cherry for the last time today. They turned in my half track to Ordance and so I won’t have [to] go out in the field much more unless they make me walk. You see we
[Page 2]
are going to move and we are getting rid of all our equipment. I turned in my little tommy gun today to [sic]. Well darling I’m suppose to go on furlough Sunday but they won’t tell me until the minute. or I might not get to go until next weekend. If its [sic] this week you won’t have time to get this letter before I get home, but if its [sic] next week I [sic] let you know when I’ll arrive. I love you so darn much darling it [sic] terrible to be so far away. I wish tomorrow I could start for home but I guess you
[Page 3]
can’t have everything. One thing I’m going home anyway and thats [sic] better than a lot of guys are. Well I’m going to take a shower now and go to bed for tomorrow who knows, may be a big day. So goodnight for now darling and I hope I dream of you tonight. I love you. As Ever
