Feb. 1945
Dearest Yve,
Well darling here I am on the high seas which nobody ever thought that I’d ever get on. I’ve been out now about four days and I really like the ocean. The sleeping quarters are pretty crowded but the food is ok and I feel fine. I go out on deck everyday and get my daily fresh air. Jim White is here

with me and of course so is mall [sic]. Well darling I left in a hurry the other morning and couldn’t call you but you know this is the army here to-day and gone to-morrow. By the way how are you? You won’t get this letter for quite a while [sic] but it shows I think of you. I miss you a lot darling and I wish I could be with you I’m going to cut this short now. I love you darling and I always will. As Ever

Howard
