Hi [D]arling
Well here I am again, just a little boy who can’t forget that he’s got the most beautiful girl in the world back in [S]outhbridge waiting for him till the war is ended. Darling I sure love you, why today I went to town and I missed you so much that I had to come back to camp and when I came back there was a big army truck and a tank running up and do down the street and it was filled with officers and women. And another thing I did was to go to the show to night [sic]
[Page 2]
and if you want to see a picture of war go see (Air Force). [Y]ou will see just about the real thing. I see many newsreels that just the Armed Forces see and if you see (Air Force) you see just about the real thing. Well I guess I’ve finished giving rifle instructions for a couple of weeks. I’m going on another course for a while. You see that new bunch of recruits will have to learn how to drill before they learn to shoot so I [will] be back drilling. Well [D]arling the weather is warm down here again and I wish it would stay that way for a little while anyway.
[Page 3]
Darling I got a new address again. [I]t’s rank then name then company then regt. then APO then Dev. then comp. then army. [A]nyway look on the envelope. [I]t will be right this time for a little while anyway. Tomorrow we have a big parade. Everybody will be there from there [sic] star generals down to buck. [illegible deletion] But, even I’ll be there. [T]here [sic] going to form the [illegible deletion] so the Armed Division and everybody’s got to be there. [E]xcuse the mistakes but I [am] getting tired so until tomorrow I love you and
[Page 4]
don’t give up. [T]he war will be over soon. Your loving husband (to be)
Howard
P.S. Forget the telegram I was just in one of my moods. I love you.
