Darling Yve,
It shure [sic] am hot down here how is it up there[?] You know what darling! We got a swimming pool in the back of our barrack but it isn’t open yet its [sic] all filled with water and looks good. I am lying on my bunk and looking at it through the windows. The way I am laying [sic] I can watch a ball game, see a church, and a movie house but I wish I was back home. I borrow a camera from an other [sic] fellow and bought a film and me and my buddy went out and took some pictures of my self [sic] and him. Some english huh. Well what can you expect

From a dumb guy like me. When I get married I[‘ll] let you educate me on something. Oh I forgot to tell you I went to the show Sunday and saw Ships Ahoy. It was pretty good. You know Yve you can’t do anything around here without spending money. That why I don’t go out much. At the service club they have free dances but there no sence [sic] of me going there I went there the other night and you know how it is with one hundred girls all shapes and 2 or 3 thousand men. Well I got just one dance and they almost died had to carry me off the floor it was so hot in there so I don’t think I will go back there. Yesterday I was walking down the street toward the civic center and as we were walking by the pool hall there was a man and a women doing a little mugging out under a tree in the grass and that wasn’t

all. There was quite a going on over there so I just walked right by so much for that. Now darling I want to tell you how much I miss you. This is a half of a life with out [sic] you I wish I could see you. [D]o you know that it makes 31 days that I haven’t held you in my arms infact if I don’t pretty soon I’ll go crazy. It’s getting bad I got out on the drill field and the captain starts giving commands and I stand there in a daze. I allmost [sic] go extra duties to-day [sic] but I talked my self [sic] out of it but I don’t think I be [sic] that

lucky all the time. Well darling I had a dream about you last night and it seem so real. [I]t seemed like that night when we went to the sea shore with Rita + George remember. I wish I was back to them old days but I think the future days are going to be much nicer with you as my wife. [N]othing could possibly go wrong. I love you so much. I am coming back as soon as possible. [S]ome of the boys think they are going across for the winter but I don’t think so. I love you. I love you more than any one knows. Love

Howard
