[The following is written on official United States Army stationary]
May 11, 1944
10:30 P.M.
Hi Kid
Well how’s everything to day [sic]? I just about dead [sic] to-night [sic] so I’m going to bed shortly. Darling I love you and outside of that nothing new has happened. I made my usual trip to town to-day [sic] and came back only to go out in the feild [sic] and I didn’t get back until nine o’clock to-night [sic]. Well darling I got to go to town to morrow [sic] and a couple of guys that are getting furloughs want me to get their trip ticket so I guess

I’ll get it for them. I only hope that I’ll be able to buy my own before long. I really got to go now because my eyes are closing on me. I love you with all my heart and darling please wait for me. I love you. As Ever
