Dear Yve.,
Well darling its [sic] just me again an [sic] lonlier [sic] than ever. I can’t see very well to-night [sic] there’s something wrong with our electricity and it won’t stay on. Well we got a new mascot for our platoon to-day [sic]. She [sic] an [sic] Hungarian girl that does all the washing and ironing for fifty eight men and she’s no bigger than you. Thats [sic] about the only thing new that happened the last time I wrote so you see for me life is very dull without you darling, I really mean it. I love you so darn
[Page 2]
much darling I dont [sic] know what to do. I wish I was home so much that I walk the eight hundred miles to [Se Harve?] to take a boat. I got to go on guard again at 3 o’clock til six in the morning so I got to get a little nap before I leave. I love you very much darling and I wish I was with you. I’d never leave again. I got to go now and I hope I get a letter soon. I love you darling with all my heart. As Ever,
Howard
