Thursday.
Dearest little wife.
This morning we we’re [sic] married 1 ½ years and I keep loving you more and more all the time. I’m so glad we got married when we did and I love you so much hon. Things look terrible out here. There’s just one chance of me getting home for christmas now and thats [sic] to be shipped to devens. The separation center at camp cook closed to-day [sic] and the one at Fort McArthur is over crowded and can’t take any more men. Gee darling there ought to be a law in the army saying a man should be home for christmas once every four years any way [sic] and if I stay here this christmas it will
[Page 2]
my fourth christmas in the army and I don’t like it a bit. Honey I love you so much I can’t think of anything except going home and darling I want to be with you this christmas. I never wanted anything so much as I want to go home to my little wife. I love you I love you so very very much and I don’t know what else to say. Well hon, I’ll write to morrow [sic] and let you know what happens next. Don’t let me get you worried the way I write these letters it just make me feel better to get it off my mind. Goodnight darling and remember I’ll always love you. As Ever.
Howard
