Dearest Yve.,
In answer to the letter I got from you to day [sic] I was not wounded in battle, I just had a little infection in my hand that that I got from a peice [sic] of steel but its [sic] ok now. I’ll show you it when I get home. By the way darling you can get my summer suit and have it cleaned and my winter shirt and pants too in case its [sic] cold some of the nights next month when I get home. I would so much
[Page 2]
like to be home for your birthday but I think it’ll be more the middle of the month, but we’ll selabrate [sic] it anyway. Its [sic] really true that I’ll be home some time [sic] in Aug. but don’t know the [illegible deletion] date. Another thing darling I got the medel [sic] and have been wearing it ever since and darling I’m not mad. I love you so very much I could never be mad at you. Well darling I’ve been getting rid of a lot of my equipment so when I have to travel that 900 miles to the coast and three thousand of ocean I won’t have to carry so much.
[Page 3]
We haven’t been told that we go to Japan yet but we haven’t been told we won’t go either so you never can tell. I hope not anyway but I’m not going to think of that right now. I [sic] going to think of you and what we can do while I’m home for thirty days. Gee it seem [sic] like ten years since I’ve seen you but it [sic] only five month [sic] and 2 day [sic] if I’m not mistaken. It was the morning Feb. 5 at about 5:30 in the morning when I took the trolly [sic] to the bus station in Providence.
[Page 4]
Where shall we go on our vacation and it will be a vacation because your [sic] not going to work I hope you understand that. Shall we go to Ocean beach or is there some other place you’d rather go? Let me know darling, will you? I love you so that just being y with you and if your [sic] happy thats [sic] all I want. I love you and always will. As Ever,
Howard

P.S. I love you the most.
P.S.S do you want to argue [illegible] point
