Hi Darling:
I guess I’ve been a little slow in writing, but with all this changing around there doing around here you can’t find time. The last three days. I’ve been out on night problems and to top it off yesterday morning when we came in to [sic] camp they took us for a forced march you wouldn’t know what that is but its [sic] [illegible deletion]
[page 2]
[illegible deletion] no push over well we walked ten + one-half [sic] miles in 2 hours and carried full equipment. Well darling I went out and fired the Tommy gun for record and now expert is that good enough for you. Lets [sic] change the subject to day [sic] it rained all day and I’m just drying off. and darling I was just thinking how nice it would be to be with you on a cold night like this all
[page 3]
curled up in a big chair in front of a fire place [sic] oh gee. Why do they want to fight anyway. Well I guess I have to forget about that for the present but I sure would like to see you Darling I’m running low on ink so I guess I [sic] close now so good night [sic] and I’ll love you always. Love
Howard
