Darling Wife
I love you so much that I pretend that we’re married. Well here it is a day before payday and there is’nt [sic] a thin dime in the camp aint [sic] that something. What is that party that you said you were at in your last letter if i’m not to nosey. I went to the show last night and saw a picture that I want you to see. I can’t think of the name of it but I think it was (This Above All) T. Power and J. Fontaine starred in it. I think I’m coming home soon I sure hope so any way [sic]. I bought you a birthday present and I send [sic] it to you. I don't know if you will like it or not but it cost me ten cents at the least. Well I got to be closing now this is just a short note. Well good-by [sic] [illegible word] for the present. Love
Howard
