Darling I’m glad it [sic] over because even though I worked most of the day I keep thinking of that first football game I went to and you were there to keep me warm remember. Well it was kind of warm down here to day [sic] and we had the [illegible deletion] same kind of a diner that they have all over the country you know turkey
[page 2]
but it wasn’t the same as eating at home. I just met a guy that I had basic training with back in Knox and he got shipped out to the 3rd Armored Division in Aug. 1942 and then got shipped back here last week because he missed the boat. He’s been here a week now and he said that he wished now that he didn’t miss it. I guess you can never satify [sic] some guys. How did the foot ball [sic] game come out?
[page 3]
Is it cold back home or have you any snow yet? Well darling I got your letter with the extra letter and I think I’d much rather talk to your father. To me it just don’t seem right to write a letter although you may know best. I wish you would write and tell me? If you think the letter will be best OK [sic] it will be a letter. Well you haven’t said what you want for
[page 4]
Christmas yet. So you better make up your mind pretty soon. Please darling let me know soon. I love you and I wish I could be with you. I don’t want to spend another holiday without you so until saturday [sic] night I love you. As Ever
Howard

We’re leaving for bivouac to morrow [sic] morning and will be back saturday [sic] night. I hope
