Hi Darling
I got your letter where you’ve been reading those leaflets and why don’t you send me one so I can see it. Darling I don’t think our marriage will be unhappy as everybody seem to think after all it isn’t what it is it’s what you make it. Darling send me a copy of that one “I’m keeping
[page 2]
company now” because I need something to make my hair curl. The C.O. came around to day [sic] and said that I’ve had my hair cut the civilian way long enough and told me to get a G.I. so here I am with a short hair cut. Oh well you can’t be going out with me for my looks anyway. I got pictures to day [sic] and I don’t know if I should even send you one, they came out lousy.
[page 3]
I [sic] send you one anyway and if you don’t like it I [sic] try again and maybe it will come out different I hope so anyway and this picture will keep all the mice away anyway. Now darling tell me something I can get you for christmas [sic]. The things you can get down here are limited so please tell me huh! Gee darling I love you so. Goodnight darling. Love
Howard
