Camp Campbell,
Ky. [Kentucky]
Dear Yve.
I got some very bad news for you first and its [sic] I won’t be home for christmas [sic]. I’m sure of it now because I saw the names of all those who will be able to go and mine is not there. I’d like to go but I guess it hasn’t been long of enough since I’ve had my last furlough. I got the package that your mother + Dad sent and I think there [sic] swell. The
[page 2]
brownies were swell and every thing [sic]. I still don’t know what I’ll get you for christmas yet. I’m going to town this after noon [sic] but they haven’t got any thing [sic] more in town than they have in camp. Darling this is going to be a short letter and darling I’ll send you some thing [sic]. I love you and don’t forget it I’ll close now and say hello to everybody for me Love
