Dear Mummy,
Well I’m still OK as you’ll know when you get this letter. I went to town friday, I mean I started to go when I got called to duty. They needed some one [sic] to drive them on a three day bivouac so here I am. Thats [sic] why I didn’t write fri. sat. but I finally got my paper and pen so I can write now. Well darling right now I’ve got an a set of ear phones [sic] and trying to write at the same time. Did you ever try to write with a continual buzz in your ears well if this don’t [sic] make sence [sic] just tear it up and I’ll try to write again. I [am] still a little sleepy from last night because this ____ radio was on all night
[Page 2]
and your [sic] not supposed to sleep on the job. I look pretty rugged right now because I haven’t shaved since Thursday. I must be getting nervous a 105 shell just went whisling [sic] over head. Gee darling I love you and miss you so darn much it [sic] awful. I wish I was home so very much but I can’t and it makes things worse. I [have] got to go now darling. I see the officer walking this way but I’ll write to night. [sic] I love you I want you to know that and I want you so much so take care of yourself and don’t work to [sic] much. I love you. As Ever,
