Hello Darling,
Well darling I guess I didn’t knock on wood hard enough because I caught one of those colds and got taken for a ride to the doctors and he made me stay in bed since monday [sic]. Well anyway I got sick of being in bed and am up to-night [sic] anyway. You know they can’t keep a good man down (I love me). I’m sorry to hear that they had to take your grandmother to the hospital and

it would just have to be around this time of year when christmas and New Years [sic] and everything. Darling how are you? I wish I could go home for the holidays but I guess somebody got to stay and hold down the fort. I got a card from Bill and I got a letter from him too and he don’t say anything I got one letter from him and all he wrote was Everything [sic] ok having a good time wish you were here Love Bill. So you know how much

he tells me. Darling there’s a slight possibility of me coming home New Years but don’t plan on it too much I can’t know until the last minute my self [sic] and then I won’t beleive [sic] it until I’m on the train. Gee darling I love you and please wait because I’ll be home some day [sic]. I love so very much. As Ever
