Yve Darling
Here it is payday and I didn’t get any pay. I was redlined. They made a mistake up in headquarters and my pay didn’t go through so I have to wait intil [sic] next month isn’t that [illegible deletion] just my luck[?] Well darling I spent a week on the rifle range and all I could make is marksman. I came with in [sic] two points of making a sharpshooter but you can’t have every thing [sic]. Well darling I still love you and I hope you still love me the same as always. I am going to the show to night [sic] but will go to bed early. How is every thing [sic] back in the old home town[?] [B]y the way
[Page 2]
the way you spell my sister’s name is Evelyn. If I get the rating that I think I’m going to get I get them Tuesday. Well darling I going to start now so I’ll be able to come home for [illegible deletion] Xmas. Well don’t be surprise[d] at any thing [sic] I do because it is all for you. I love you and miss you terribly. Honey I sure wish I can [illegible word] could see you all next week. You don’t know what I go through every night. I get so lonesome that theres no fun in it. Well darling good night [sic] for now. I see you again. Love. The Pvt who left you behind
