9:30 P.M.
Dear Mummy,
Well here I am again and I feel much better now. Even though I didn’t get a letter from you I know you love me, and I love you so darn much. Mushy aint [sic] I? I just got back from the show and I’m telling you it’s very good so don’t miss it when it comes to town even if you have to give up a few lessons. The name of it is (Since You Went Away). It last [sic] about three hours and you’ll enjoy it really darling. Gee darling I miss you so much to-night [sic] I just can’t tell you how much. though and when I see you I can’t tell you because

I just don’t miss you thats [sic] all. Gee darling I wish we were where we could be to-gether [sic] like we were in Hopkinsville again. You know when I was sick yesterday and I couldn’t keep any thing [sic] down, well Ray said to me that I better stock up on safty [sic] pins, he said that I’d probably need them. I don’t need them yet do I darling? Well darling keep the home fire burning and your little chin up because some of these days I’m coming home. I love you so much my darling but I [have] got to be here. I love you. Your mush husband,
