Hi Kid,
Well I took your advice and went to town to day [sic] to enjoy myself but not with much sucess [sic]. I ended up by coming to the USO to write letters. But it [sic] change from camp life any way [sic]. Darling you better take care of that cold you got or I’ll have to come home and see about it. Gee I wish I only could. Well I [sic] here at the USO as you already know and they are having a community
[page 2]
sing here so my letter won’t be to [sic] long. They just sang a hill billy song. So you know just about how long I can sit here and write while listening to that stuff. Gee darling I miss you so darn much that if this war don’t get over pretty soon your [sic] going to have to come down. I’m so sick of being alone. You know if I had married you last time I was home this day would of been the first day I would of been able to see you so what I said was true it wouldn’t of work so well
[page 3]
even if you were here. You know we must have one person who know’s how to play the piano because she’s playing my song you know the one I mean. Well darling I’m going to quit writing now because I got to take the next bus back to camp. I still love you very much and don’t forget it. Love
Howard
